Jost Van Dyke: Day 5
We spent today traveling to and on Virgin Gorda. It is about an hour long boat ride to Virgin Gorda from Jost.
Ready for the day
We made a quick stop to take a family picture with Sandy Cay in the background.
Ready for the day
We made a quick stop to take a family picture with Sandy Cay in the background.
Then we had to make a stop at Tortola to visit the ATM, there wasn't one anywhere else. So while we waited, we took some pics. :)
Love this girl!
Then we made another quick snorkel stop to take a break from the boat. This was Lily's favorite snorkel stop of the whole trip! We gave up on the snorkel and she agreed to wear the mask and just pop her head in and out of the water. There were birds and some giant fish and there weren't as many waves so she could swim a little easier.
Finally a smile
Brett, Lily and I were swimming together and looking at the tiny little fish swimming around us, when all of a sudden they started swirling around us like a tornado. Lily and I squealed and then we realized they were trying to get away from the giant tarpon that was now swimming right under us. Lily LOVED it! It was the most exciting thing she saw all week! haha
There was a little beach you could climb on that had some amazing rock structures.
If you have the chance to visit Virgin Gorda while in the BVI, do no pass it up! It was amazing!! The granite structures are breathtaking and just an amazing work of God!
We arrived and had to swim to shore and then walk up to lunch on the hill. Props again to David, who swam with Lily on his back. He was the best boat guide! He said it would be best to go ahead and eat ahead of the crowd so we headed up to lunch.
David was showing the kids a tamarind, a sweet/tart fruit, and getting them to try one.
This portrait was by our table at lunch so they wanted to pose with it. :)
The restaurant had a fun little pool where the kids played while waiting for our food. I had the most amazing coconut chicken fingers! I am seriously thinking about them right now they were so good!
After lunch we headed down to The Baths and stopped for a few photo ops along the way.
Skull rock. Loving Lily's pose. :)
I mean, I can't even deal with this! :) She is so full of sass!
The start of our next adventure in The Baths
You climb through the amazing granite structures and along the way you find little areas of water or "baths." It was breathtaking!
Love this silly man of mine!
You end up in this beautiful "bath"
And then you take a short walk through some trees to Devil's Bay
They had so much fun exploring
Amazing
My little beach stud
Love these 2 so much!
She was pretending to be a mermaid. :)
We stayed and played for about an hour and were practically the only ones there. We were thankful that David encouraged us to eat early because most people were now up waiting on a table instead of down in The Baths. Plus he said some days cruise ships will come and drop off thousands of people and you can hardly move around. It was amazing to enjoy it in peace.
These 2 quickly passed out on our hour long journey back to Jost Van Dyke.
This was our favorite day of the trip!
