When we got home from Hollywood Studios last night, Brett and I went through our Fast Passes for the next day and made some changes. We spent most of the Christmas Party in Tomorrowland and Fantasyland so we decided to spend today exploring Adventureland and Frontierland. We decided to switch some Fast Passes for Big Thunder Mountain and Pirates of the Caribbean and we also had one for the fireworks show.
We wanted to try to see Mickey Mouse today so we got to the park early and got in line. He was just inside the park in the Town Square Theater with Tinker Bell. We still had to wait about 45 mins but it was so worth it. This Mickey talks and really spends time with your kids. He sang the hot dog song and danced with the kids and he was just so much fun! He is a must see character who really spends time with his visitors.
We thought it would be easier, and more fun than walking, to ride the train to adventureland.
We went straight to Big Thunder Mountain and this turned out to be one of our favorite rides.
Trying to get a picture of all of us on big Thunder Mountain

Our next Fast Pass was for Pirates of the Caribbean. We have not watched these movies with our kids yet so they didn't have a reference of the characters but had LOTS of questions about pirates.
This is another rides where you exit into a gift shop. They had a lot of fun pirate stuff and some fun toys from the movie. The kids wanted to buy a bunch of stuff but we convinced them that we had 1 more day at this park and could always come back. Still trying to teach them not to spend all their money at once.
We stopped to eat lunch at Tortuga Tavern and then headed to the Jungle Cruises. Lily really wanted to ride The Magic Carpets of Aladdin, which was right outside the Jungle Cruise, so Brett and Luke got in line while we rode. There was no line so we were in and out in about 10 mins. We told the Fast Pass regulators that we needed to join our group and they let us just wait at the front for them. It originally said that line was about 45 mins but it turned out to only be about 20 mins. Our tour guide was like the most amazing tour guide I have ever had. He was hilarious!! None of the animals are real on the tour but we had so much fun laughing with our guide!
We headed to Tom Sawyer Island after the cruise. The kids had a blast running around the island and looking around. There was a fort, a shaky barrel bridge, some underground cave tunnels, and a few playgrounds. It was a great place for the kids to explore and have some freedom.
We had a little bit of time left before we had to split for our boy/girl dinners and the kids really wanted to do Splash Mountain. I did not want to ride it this early because Lily and I had dinner reservations in the castle but hated to say no to fun so off we went to get soaking wet. I came prepared, at least for the kids, and brought their rain jackets so they were somewhat protected from the water. This was another of our favorite rides!
At this point in the day we separated for dinner. I have been dreaming about taking Lily to eat in Cinderella's castle, pretty much since I found out I was having a girl. :) I didn't think the boys would enjoy watching her get all dolled up at the Bibbidi Bobbed Boutique or eating with princesses so my fabulous Disney planner got them reservations for the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue, dinner and show. To do both of these, we each spent 2 sit down meals (it was extra to do them) so this kept our meals even. They had to leave the park and go to the Fort Wilderness Lodge. They had a great time spending the afternoon together!
Lily chose to bring her Elsa dress to change into at the boutique. This is another extra cost and can be pretty expensive. We went for the cheaper selections and it was about $60, thankfully we brought our own dress. Lily chose to have her hair twisted with color extensions, which of course were pink and blue. I saw a lot of brothers having to wait for their sisters and let me just nicely suggest that you do what we did and find something separate for the boys to do. The poor boys kept getting into trouble and acting up and complaining that they had to sit there or that they were covered in glitter. :) I am glad the boys had a fun afternoon together and I got some super special time with my girl. Anyway, they fix your girl all up with hair, nails, makeup, etc and then do a special enchantment and sprinkle them with magic sparkles. It is truly magical. Then they spin them around so they can see themselves. I loved every minute of watching her! They get a little bag to keep with their makeup and nail polish.
We went straight from the boutique to our dinner reservations. You meet Cinderella before you go up to dinner and then 4 princesses visit you during your meal. You also get a magic wand. and get to make a wish with a wishing star. I seriously had to hold back tears all afternoon. We got to see Snow White, Aurora, Jasmine, and Ariel.
The boys were not back yet so after dinner we walked out and the meet and greet for Anna and Elsa was right there. Lily really wanted to meet them in her Elsa dress so we got in the line.
When the boys got back to the park, they headed straight for Space Mountain so we met them in line. Lily was nervous and excited and totally unsure about having to ride without someone next to her. She rode with Daddy so he could hold her from behind. She enjoyed it but was good with the one time ride.
Just outside Space Mountain we ran into another dance party but with the characters of The Incredibles. Lily partied hard! haha! She danced for about 30 mins straight until we convinced her to go do something else.
After leaving the dance party, we ran in to Stitch's Great Escape. SO not my favorite experience! He burps and farts and does all kinds of gross stuff in your face and they actual poof smells out of your head rest. It was disgusting - Luke thought it was hilarious.
Our last stop before heading back to the castle for Celebrate the Magic and our Fast Pass for Wishes Nightime Spectacular was the Astro Orbiter. This was beautiful at night because you can see all the lights around the park and the castle is all lit up. Then we stopped for a photo op. Again, I love that there were photographers around the park to catch these moments for us.
Lily freezing the castle like Elsa.
The front of the castle was packed for the nighttime shows! We had a Fast Pass so we got access to a lawn but it was way in the back. Celebrate the Magic was a lot of fun. They show scenes from all the different Disney movies on the castle and the kids had a blast naming the movies. The fireworks show started right after and Tinker Bell kicks off the whole thing by flying down from the castle. Her costume was all lit up and Lily just about lost her mind. Another fantastic show in the books and we were ready to head home. We were running on Disney magic at this point but as we walked down Main Street Luke wanted to stop and shop. He still had about $50 to spend and pointed out like everything in the store. I found a special Disney World key for him. It was exactly what I was trying to get him to look for to have a special keepsake, not just a toy he will discard in a year. He loved it!
At this point we were completely spent, it was 11:00, but as we walked out of the store another parade started. It was the Main Street Electrical Parade and it went right by us so we sat down on the curb to watch. They turn off all the lights on Maine Street and all the characters clothes had lights on them like the floats and they danced down the street. It was beautiful!

We have never seen Pete's Dragon but the kids really liked him. We will have to make a movie night out of it, plus did you know they are coming out with a new one this year?!
